Trying to sound like Dracula with my word BLOG. I think I fell flat!

I am officially open for being asked questions. My first endeavor will be to encourage everyone that going wheat-free is not difficult nor is it a tasteless endeavor. I won’t tell you it’s totally easy, sometimes when you’re hungry and haven’t put snacks in place to curb your hunger; you’ll get very frustrated and probably cheat.

Hopefully, I will help you successfully make the leap to a total wheat-free diet. Why,

Because after reading Wheat Belly by William Davis, I am convinced that my life will be healthier without our 21st century genetically modified wheat. The wheat we eat today has absolutely NO resemblance to the wheat we ate in the 1950s and before. Eating today’s wheat is worse than eating a candy bar. How’s that for Trouble.

I haven’t seen the recipes nor tried any from the Wheat Belly Cookbook. The book has 183 reviews and no review is under 3 stars. I want to begin helping people with one of the 3-star reviews and debunking their problem:

I have now tried two recipes from the book, following the directions very carefully and both were a bust. The basic bread tastes okay but is so flat it would never make a good sandwich–unlike the picture of the Reuben sandwich in the book–and doesn’t have the texture or taste of a bread–more like a cake. I also made the chocolate cream pie as dessert for Christmas Day…

When making your own bread, it will NEVER taste like wheat bread. It WON’T have the taste nor the softness. The good news is you can learn to eat “sandwiches” without bread or you can make/buy gluten-free bread and toast it. I absolutely LOVE brown rice bread toasted with peanut butter. I don’t make bread, except pizza dough. I just tried a recipe for pizza dough that was pretty good and didn’t make me feel I was missing eating REAL pizza. I generally buy bread in the health food section of the grocery store (frozen). There are some very good ones. Ezekiel Bread has wheat in it.

Tried LOTS of recipes. Eaten lots of gluten free foods (both yucky and wonderful) and survived eating at restaurants also.
